A Short Story About Me

I believe no story is too small and no genre is too vast, as long as it's populated by characters too curious—or too stubborn—to stay in their lane. My work centers on these outcasts: the people who keep bumping into the furniture of their reality until they finally figure out how to rearrange the room.

My imagination is similarly restless. Inspired by the "borderless" careers of writers like Asimov and King, I prefer not to be neatly shelved. If a story wants to be a historical puzzle, a satirical fantasy, or a haunting piece of Southern Gothic, I’m happy to follow it into the dark.

This "creative wanderlust" has led to some exciting places:

  • Awards: Recognition from Writers of the Future, Writing Battle, and AutoCrit.

  • Novels: The upcoming The Cavendish Code, Soul Eater: Maurepas, and Boise City.

Home is Atlanta, Georgia. I share it with my wife, Julie, and Baxter—a Goldendoodle whose "superior intellect" is usually applied to the art of the bribe. They keep my feet on the ground, even when my head is buried in an apocalyptic future or a comedic crime scene.
